The Goodwill Computer Museum is accepting donations of early computer technology. Please contact us at museum@AustinGoodwill.org.
The Goodwill Computer Museum provides interactive exhibits and programs that educate the community on the evolution and use of computer technology. We promote environmental awareness and the importance of recycling end-of-life electronics and most importantly, we raise awareness of Goodwill’s mission by reaching out to the technical community in Central Texas. The ‘don’t miss’ attraction for this year is Goodwill’s Computer Museum. The Museum will allow youth of all ages to see how technology has evolved throughout the decades. And adults can experience the high tech revolution all over again! Activities for the day will include vintage games for visitors to play, such as PacMan and Centipede on the Commodore 64, past and present robotics demonstrations: TOPO, AIBO, and LEGO MINDSTORMS, and tours of the Goodwill recycling program at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.
Museum-goers will also have a chance to explore the Museum’s new exhibits and vintage computers, like the new environmental exhibit and the PDP-8/S from the 1960s, which has been refurbished and restored. There are also fun photo opportunities in front of the e-guys, or statues built out of recycled computer parts.

This museum day will be especially exciting because the Computer Museum was voted the “Best Place to See the Past at Work” by the Austin Chronicle. Come out and see us this Sunday and see the past truly at work!
